The Indian Maritime University (IMU), Chennai has published a recruitment notification 2012 for the recruitment of Professors, Associate Professors and Assistant Professors in the following disciplines. The University comes under the Ministry of Shipping and a central university situated at East Coast Road, Uthandi, and Chennai. Indian Maritime University, Chennai announced a career opportunity to 65 passionate, results oriented willing and dynamic people as Professors, Associate Professors and Assistant Professors in the discipline of Management/Social Sciences/Public Policy/Law/Ocean Engineering/Pure Sciences and General Engineering.
Eligibility Criteria
For the post Professor
Candidates should have Ph.D degree in relevant discipline and three years of service in the AGP as Associate Professor “or” ten-year’s post graduation experience with an eminent scholar with published work of high quality actively engaged in research. Age of candidates will be not more than 50 years as on 15th Oct, 2012. (Relaxation as per Vice Chancellor rules)
For the post Associate Professor
Candidates having the doctoral degree with good academic record and Master’s degree with minimum 55% marks plus five years research “or” teaching experience will be eligible. Age of candidates will be less than 45 years.
For the post Assistant Professor
Candidates should have Master’s degree with the minimum of 55% marks and passing National Eligibility Test conducted by CSIR, UGC. Age of candidates will be not more than 40 years as on 15th Oct, 2012.
Selection Process
Candidates will be short listed on the basis performance in previous education record. Short listed candidates are liable to attend the interview. The IMU may conduct the Seminar/Colloquium for selection, if required.

Interested candidates can send duly filled applications in the prescribed format (given in advertisement) along with attested photocopy of documents, in support of education qualification, age, special community, experience to the following address given below in the image. Candidates are advised to affix a passport size photograph on the application form under their signature.
