Title: Elucidating the role of 5-oxoprolinases in Saccharomyces cervisiae in the light of the truncated g-glutamyl cycle in of yeasts

This project is aimed toward understanding the mechansisms of glutathione homeostasis in the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiase which lacks some of the key enzymes of the g-glutamyl cycle of glutathione biosynthesis and degradation. The project would involve work with the proteins and enzymes of this pathway and their molecular characterization.
